With the North Carolina primary election March 3 and early voting ending Feb. 29, here’s what positions are listed on each of Wake County’s available voter ballots.
Democrat
If you’re voting in the Democratic primary, the federal offices you may vote for are presidential preference, US Senate and US House of Representatives District 2. The state offices are NC Governor; NC Lieutenant Governor, which is the second highest elected North Carolina official, with both legislative and executive powers; NC Auditor, whose office conducts special studies as requested by the legislature to ensure North Carolina can continue to receive federal funding; NC Commissioner of Agriculture; NC Superintendent of Public Instruction; and NC Treasurer. The county offices are Board of Commissioners District 1, Board of Commissioners District 3, and Register of Deeds, who handles all land titles and transactions in the county.
Republican
If you’re voting in the Republican Primary, the federal offices listed on the ballot are presidential preferences and U.S. Senate. Although there are no county offices listed on the Republican ballot, there are eight state offices. These offices are NC Governor, NC Lieutenant Governor, NC Attorney General, NC Auditor, NC Commissioner of Insurance, NC Commissioner of Labor, NC Secretary of State and NC Superintendent of Public Administration.
Libertarian
For those voting Libertarian, the only position you can vote for on the ballot is the federal office of presidential preference.
