Three of the four tickets for student body president and vice president will participate in Student Media’s annual Student Government election debate Friday, Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m. in Talley Student Union room 4140, the Student Government chambers. Attending president and vice president candidates, respectively, are as follows:
Sam Brohaugh, a third-year studying civil engineering, and Erinn Foote, a second-year studying philosophy and political science;
Max Stoltz, a third-year studying parks, recreation and tourism management, and Hannah Stoltz, a second-year studying fashion and textile management;
Melanie Flowers, a third-year studying communication, and McKenzy Heavlin, a second-year studying electrical engineering.
One ticket will not be present: Student body president candidate Carlie Higgins, a third-year transfer student in political science and communication, has stated that she and student body vice president candidate Powell Braddock, a first-year studying chemical engineering, will be unable to attend the debate due to scheduling conflicts.
The debate is open to the public and serves as a chance for students to get to know candidates. In a similar format to last year’s Student Government debate, students may send questions ahead of time to Technician through Facebook, Twitter and email via technician-news@ncsu.edu.
