The NC State women’s golf team finished eighth out of 12 teams in the ACC Championships on Sunday at Grandover Resort in Greensboro.
The Pack finished day one in 10th place and climbed two spots throughout competition on Sunday and Monday to tie with UNC-Chapel Hill in eighth, with five over par (293) on Monday, and a shot of 895 (+31) over the weekend.
Juniors Laura Kowohl and India Clyburn led the Pack as both finished in the top 25 of the championships.
Kowohl tied for 12th place in the tournament with a score of 219 (+3) after shooting par on Monday. This performance was Kowohl’s fifth career top-20 mark and the program’s fourth best 54-hole finish.
Clyburn shot a 74 on Monday, making a combined 223 (+7) over the weekend, earning her a top-25 finish in the tournament.
Senior Cecily Overbey shot another round of 75 on Monday, bringing her total to 11-over par (227). Overbey finished tied for 34th place.
Freshman Monika Hartl shot an even-par (72) during the third round on Monday, which helped her jump nine spots, finishing tied for 47th with a score of 232 (+16).
Junior Naomi Ko finished the weekend tied for 52nd with a 235 (+19).
Next up for the Pack is a potential NCAA Regional Championship berth. The selection show is set for April 25 at 5:30 p.m. on the Golf Channel.
