Russell Wilson found a way to get it done for the Seattle Seahawks late, again, in a Thursday-night thriller. Wilson’s late-game heroics and season-high tackles for a couple Wolfpack defenders highlighted Week 11 for former NC State players in the NFL.
Russell Wilson, Quarterback, Seattle Seahawks
Wilson thrived in primetime Thursday night in a 27-24 home victory over the Green Bay Packers. Wilson threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns. Tight end Ed Dickson caught a 15-yarder from Wilson late in the fourth quarter to seal the game. The dual-threat quarterback added 17 rushing yards on five attempts.
Bradley Chubb, Outside Linebacker, Denver Broncos
Chubb recorded seven total tackles, his rookie season best, contributing to a stingy Broncos defensive front in a come-from-behind 23-22 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. Chubb also had a sack on fellow Wolfpack alumnus and Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers. Broncos kicker Brandon McManus nailed a 34-yard field goal as time expired to seal the much-needed victory.
Philip Rivers, Quarterback, Los Angeles Chargers
Although Rivers threw for 401 yards Sunday, the Broncos defense got the best of the Chargers in a crushing 23-22 defeat. Rivers threw for two touchdowns to familiar targets Keenan Allen and Antonio Gates. Despite throwing for 65 percent accuracy, Rivers had two interceptions. Rivers and the Chargers will look to bounce back against the Arizona Cardinals next week.
B.J. Hill, Defensive Tackle, New York Giants
The rookie defensive lineman claimed a combined three tackles in a 38-35 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Hill has recorded at least one tackle in nine of 10 games this season, including eight games with multiple tackles.
Josh Jones, Safety, Green Bay Packers
Jones recorded an individual season high with seven combined tackles in a 27-24 loss on Thursday Night Football against the Seahawks.
