Philip Rivers, Russell Wilson, Bradley Chubb and Nyheim Hines are all leading their teams to surprising playoff pushes late in the season. The Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts are all in a good position to make the postseason despite disappointing starts and low expectations. Most Pack Pros helped their teams secure victory in Week 12, as more and more Pack alumni are joining teams.
Russell Wilson, Quarterback, Seattle Seahawks
Wilson helped continue the Seahawks surge and pursuit of a playoff spot in a tough win over the previously undefeated-at-home Carolina Panthers, 30-27. Wilson threw for over 300 yards at a highly accurate clip, throwing no interceptions and two touchdowns. Rarely discussed, Wilson is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, with his arm and his ability to run the ball as well.
Phillip Rivers, Quarterback, Los Angeles Chargers
Rivers had an impressive week, leading his team to a 45-10 rout of the Arizona Cardinals. Rivers threw for over 250 yards, with three touchdowns, no interceptions and an astounding 97 percent completion. Rivers and his immensely talented offensive weapons are charging their way into the playoffs, however, winning the division remains a difficult task being in the same division as the ever-impressive Kansas City Chiefs.
Bradley Chubb, Linebacker, Denver Broncos
Chubb has led a Broncos team that, while at 5-6, still has a good shot to make the playoffs. The Broncos remaining schedule includes the Cincinnati Bengals, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders and Chargers, with the toughest games being against the Browns and Chargers. The Broncos continued to impress, notching a 24-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Chubb finished the game with four tackles.
Nyheim Hines, Running Back, Indianapolis Colts
Despite being behind Marlon Mack on the depth chart, and not being the lead target for quarterback Andrew Luck, Hines has been a multi-dimensional threat for the surging Colts, who aim for a playoff spot at 6-5. The Colts are on a five-game winning streak, after starting the season at 1-5 and winning their last game over the Miami Dolphins, 27-24. Hines recorded 50 all-purpose yards, with 28 coming on the ground and 22 in the air.
Stephen Hauschka, Kicker, Buffalo Bills
Hauschka notched the final score of the game for the Bills in a 24-21 victory over the disappointing Jacksonville Jaguars. Hauschka has been a bright spot on the below average Bills and was perfect in the win.
B.J. Hill, Defensive Tackle, New York Giants
Hill had an impressive game in a 22-25 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Hill has been a solid starter on a young Giants team and notched three tackles, a tackle for loss and a pass deflection in the loss. Hill applied strong pressure on quarterback Carson Wentz and helped lead the Giants to a 19-3 lead heading into the half.
David Amerson, Cornerback, Arizona Cardinals
Amerson was signed by the Cardinals in time to play in the gut-punch loss to the Chargers. Amerson recorded three total tackles, two solos, in his Cardinals debut.
Justin Jones, Defensive Tackle, Los Angeles Chargers
Jones notched two tackles in the 45-10 victory over the Cardinals but is lower on the d-line depth chart of the Chargers due to the return of star defensive end Joey Bosa. Jones’ role will increase with time.
Josh Jones, Safety, Green Bay Packers
Jones is a second string safety for the Packers and has had a stable year despite the disappointment behind the Packers 4-6-1 record. The disappointment continued in a 17-24 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, in which Jones recorded two tackles.
