Redshirt junior linebacker Jerod Fernandez and his teammates tackle a Notre Dame ballcarrier on Oct. 8, 2017 at Carter-Finley Stadium. In a hard fought game in the midst of Hurricane Matthew, the Wolfpack beat the Fighting Irish 10-3.
Due to Hurricane Florence’s impending arrival off the North Carolina coast, NC State’s football game against No. 14 West Virginia scheduled for Saturday at Carter-Finley Stadium will not be played this weekend.
“NC State has worked in partnership with University leadership, West Virginia University officials, the Atlantic Coast Conference and emergency management personnel to arrive at a decision in the best interests of the safety and well-being of fans, student-athletes and all parties involved,” NC State associate director of athletics Fred Demarest said via email.
A decision has not been made in regards to possibly rescheduling the game. If it is rescheduled, tickets will still be viable. Season ticket holders who can’t make it to a rescheduled game will be offered a refund.
