Russell Wilson, Quarterback, Seattle Seahawks
Wilson and the Seahawks were able to defeat the Dallas Cowboys 24-13 for their first win of the season. Wilson had great plays like a 52-yard bomb to wide receiver Tyler Lockett. Wilson has continued to show that he is capable of producing, and looks to build from last season, in which he led the league in touchdowns.
Final Stats: 16 for 26 (62 percent), 192 yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions
Philip Rivers, Quarterback, Los Angeles Chargers
It seems that Rivers will have a great game nearly every week. He had some nice passes to wide receiver Keenan Allen, but Mike Williams was the favorite target on Sunday, accounting for both of Rivers’ touchdowns, and 81 yards. However, this was not enough to defeat the surging Los Angeles Rams in a game the Chargers lost 35-23.
Final Stats: 18 for 30 (60 percent), 226 yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions, 105.7 quarterback rating
Bradley Chubb, Linebacker, Denver Broncos
Chubb has impressed in the first three weeks of the NFL season. He has been graded as the best player in his draft class (per Pro Football Focus) in the first two weeks, and it would be hard to see him not continue that with another strong showing last Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Chubb recorded one tackle for loss and one sack, and looked strong overall with multiple pressures despite the 27-14 loss.
Final Stats: two tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss
Nyheim Hines, Running Back, Indianapolis Colts
While Hines did not have a big game on paper, his impact was certainly felt. The Colts lost a hard-fought game against the defending Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles 20-16. Hines was utilized as a multi-purpose threat and picked up multiple clutch first downs. Hines will certainly see his stats increase as he continues to grow as a player, and his chemistry with quarterback Andrew Luck improves even more.
Final Stats: 18 yards on five carries, 25 yards on five receptions
Stephen Hauschka, Kicker, Buffalo Bills
In the Bills’ shocking blowout win over the Minnesota Vikings, Hauschka continued to look sharp. Hauschka accounted for nine of the Bills’ points on 100 percent accuracy. In a league that has looked shaky with its kickers this year, the Bills have to be thankful for Hauschka’s performance thus far.
Final Stats: 2 for 2 on field goals, 50-yard long, 3 for 3 on extra points, nine points total
B.J. Hill, Defensive Tackle, New York Giants
Hill recorded his first career sack in a 27-22 win over the Houston Texans, which was also a tackle for loss. Hill has adapted nicely since stepping into the starting role for the Giants.
Final Stats: one sack (and tackle for loss)
Justin Jones, Defensive Tackle, Los Angeles Chargers
Jones was largely ineffective in the 35-23 beating the Chargers took from the Los Angeles Rams. He recorded one tackle in the game and did not start.
Final Stats: one tackle
