Head coach Dave Doeren and NC State football have landed a local big fish for the 2019 recruiting class. Heritage three-star linebacker Drake Thomas announced his commitment to NC State Friday.
Thomas racked up 112 tackles, one sack, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and three interceptions in his junior season at Heritage.
According to 247Sports, the Wake Forest native also had offers from Duke, Clemson, Alabama and Ole Miss. Thomas will join his brother Thayer, a redshirt freshman wide receiver and former walk-on who was given a scholarship earlier this spring.
