The NC State men’s soccer team has parted ways with head coach Kelly Findley following Wednesday’s loss to Virginia in the first round of the ACC Tournament. Findley, who spent six years in charge of the program, will not have his contract extended and has been relieved of his duties.
Findley led the Wolfpack to a 45-51-13 record during his tenure at State, which included just a 9-33-9 record against ACC competition. The team also failed to win a single game in the ACC Tournament in his six years, and did not qualify for postseason play in any season under Findley. He finished this season with a 5-12 (1-7 ACC) record.
“We appreciate Kelly’s efforts for our program and student-athletes,” Raymond Harrison, senior associate athletic director and sport supervisor, told NC State Athletics. “We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
State will begin looking for a new coach right away and will conduct a national search to find Findley’s successor. Associate head coach David Costa will take over the team on an interim basis until the team finds a new head coach.
