North Carolina Museum of Art’s Trip-Hoppy Hour: Friday-Sunday
The free, temporary exhibit features five bunnies that are 23-feet high. The illumination runs until 8 p.m. No dogs are allowed near the bunnies. Trip-Hoppy Hour will be featuring DJ SPCLGST and is presented in partnership with New Raleigh. Artist Hank Willis Thomas will also be there, whose art is featured in the art installed in the NCMA Park. His sculptures “Ernest and Ruth” are conversation bubbles that also function as benches. The NCMA is located at 2110 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC 27607.
First Friday at the Fish Market Gallery: Friday
“Snitches Get Stiches” presents student work from art and design professor Justin LeBlanc’s guerilla fibers course. The Fish Market Gallery features NC State student work in downtown Raleigh.
Dial – Tones: Friday
Moogfest presents its music, art and technology to the NCSU Libraries for a free evening full of interactive workshops, which is open to the public. The Libraries has partnered with Moog Music and Moogfest on “Dial-Tones,” a mini-festival showcasing synthesizers, circuitry, drone and microtonal compositions. The event will be from 6-10 p.m. in the Hunt Library Auditorium. Participants will be able to purchase special $99 discounted student tickets to Moogfest 2017 with a valid student ID.
North Carolina Music and Art Park Celebration: Sunday
The celebration kicks off at 1 p.m. and will continue until dusk. NCMA will be promoting its new installations, sculptures and gardens. There will be live music, bike tours, pop-up art making, culinary demonstrations and more.
Carolina Artisan Craft Market: Nov. 11-13
Over 110 artists will display their pottery, glass, sculpture, furniture, metal, mixed media, printmaking, fiber, basketry, jewelry and fashion. The market is located at the Raleigh Convention Center on 500 S. Salisbury St. and will be open Nov. 11, 6 p.m.-9 p.m.; Nov 12, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Nov 13, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
21st Annual American Indian Heritage Celebration: Nov. 19
Join the Raleigh NC Museum of History for music, art, culture and storytelling by members of North Carolina tribes. Activities will run from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. including craft demonstrations, games, indigenous recipes and more.
A City Market Christmas: Nov. 27
From noon to 7 p.m., local artisans will present their work in the Raleigh Makers Market. There will also be carolers, face painting, horse and carriage rides and hot cider. There will also be arts and crafts and Santa will be on site at 215 Wolfe St. in Raleigh.
