These Halloween treats are made with various candies and cookies.
With Halloween fast approaching, retailers have already started incrementally discounting candies. If you find yourself with an abundance of candy you don’t know what do to with, look no further. Turn your leftover sweets into simple yet festive recipes.
Dracula doughnuts
Ingredients:
1 dozen doughnuts
1 package of glow-in-the-dark vampire fangs
1 package of M&M’s chocolate candy
Icing
Preparation:
Place vampire teeth in the holes of the doughnuts.
Adhere chocolate candy to the doughnuts with icing for its eyes.
Witch hats and brooms
Ingredients:
Miniature chocolate peanut butter cups
Miniature pretzel sticks
Fudge coated cookies
Hershey’s Kisses
Orange Icing
Preparation:
For the witch hates, place one Hershey’s Kiss on top of the fudge cookies.
Use orange icing to create a sash.
For the brooms, stick the pretzel rods in the miniature chocolate peanut butter cups.
Spooky spider cookies
Ingredients:
Double Stuf Oreo cookies
Icing
Miniature pretzel sticks
M&M’s green chocolate candies
Preparation:
Remove the top chocolate cookie wafer.
Break 4 pretzel sticks in half for the spider legs.
Gently place the spider legs evenly in the filling.
Replace the top chocolate cookie wafer.
Use icing to adhere the green eyes to the cookie wafer.
Candy corn crispy rice cereal treats
Ingredients:
4 tablespoons butter
1 bag of marshmallows
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
6 cups of crispy rice cereal
1 cup candy corn
Preparation:
Spray a 13×9 glass dish with nonstick spray.
Melt butter in a medium-size saucepan.
Slowly add marshmallows and vanilla.
Stir in marshmallow until they reach a smooth consistency. Marshmallows burn quickly, so keep an eye on them.
Remove from heat and fold in crispy rice cereal and candy corn.
Evenly add the mixture to the greased glass dish.
Let the treats cool in the refrigerator prior to slicing.
