Disclaimer: The Ivory Belltower is purely satirical, don’t take it too seriously.
I cannot believe your actions. I cannot believe that you would disrespect your country like you have. I cannot believe that you would take the time of day to stand up for a flag that represents a country where you have so much freedom. I cannot believe you don’t realize that no other place on earth has as much freedom as right here.
Think of all of the men and women who have died so that you could kneel for the flag. They deserve your respect. The Islamic State is killing Christians around the world, and you have the audacity to not stand up for the very national anthem that gives you the ability to die because of the Islamic State. Jesus would be so upset with you.
I wish you would take some time to serve your country like the men and women who defend your freedom on a daily basis do. Even people who serve selflessly on a daily basis, like the police officers of this nation give you the freedom to do so. You’re not sacrificing anything, and I know a thing or two about sacrificing.
I work as a security guard for Crabtree Valley and I urge you to spend a day in my shoes to see what I go through. There is a war on police in this country, and I fear for my safety every time I put on the uniform. When you put on a uniform, you make millions of dollars.
I understand that you have the right to do this. I really do. I understand that this country has problems. I mean, just look at Crooked Hillary. She compromised national security, left Americans to die, and yet she’s running for president. Things are seriously screwed up and you’re not helping us.
You’re only dividing us more and more by not standing for the national anthem. You’re a millionaire athlete and you’re not solving anything by playing football, so stop making such a fuss. Think of the people who actually defend your freedom to play football the next time you decide to not give that flag and the United States of America the proper respect that she deserves.
We’re back to back World War champs, and we didn’t win those wars by sitting down on the battlefield when we were feeling fussy. We stood up and gave a damn about our country, and that’s what America is all about.
I expect more from you and from the NFL, and if you don’t stand up or the NFL doesn’t do something about it, then I’m just going to boycott football this season. Sports have no business being political, just like men shouldn’t be going into women’s restrooms. It’s common sense.
Just stick to what you’re good at and if you want to protest, think of different ways to do it. Look at Martin Luther King and what he did for America. He respected the national anthem and loved his country. Even Rosa Parks was willing to stand up from her seat on the bus when she heard the national anthem.
You’re what’s wrong with America. Veterans are starving on the streets every single day and illegals are taking our jobs, but you’re upset while you get to play professional football. If you don’t like it, then just get out and go to Iraq or whatever communist country you think is better than this.
Sincerely,
A pissed American
