Vigil to remember Joseph Banks

Kam Risku, a sophomore studying Psychology, hands out candles to people for the vigil of Joseph Alexander Banks. Risku, a student leader in NCSU’s Union Activities Board, says, “I’m very saddened by the loss we have faced, but comforted by the unity of the Wolfpack.”

On Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015 more than 1,300 members of the Wolfpack community attended a vigil at Stafford Commons to honor the life of freshman engineering student Joseph Anderson Banks, who died on campus the day before.

A crowd gathers in the Stafford Commons Tuesday night for the candlelit vigil held in honor of freshman Joseph Alexander Banks. About 1,300 people joined together for the vigil. Various members of the NC State community spoke, including Student Body President Khari Cyrus.
