Students and parents move belongings back to their cars during an early move-out for students on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Thurman drive. Students were informed earlier on March 17 that the campus would be moving to minimal operations and that dorms would be closing until further notice in an attempt to safeguard against and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Students have until 5 P.M. on Sunday, March 22, 2020 to take their essentials and return to their permanent residences, with an exception for a few categories of students.

Abhi Chandra, a first year in exploratory studies, and Claire Jessen, a first year in meteorology, move their belongings to their cars after NC State informed students that dorms will close at the end of the week on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Thurman drive. NC State has given all students until 5 P.M. on Sunday, March 22, 2020 to take their essentials and return home to their permanent residences to help safeguard and reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. NC State will move to minimal operations on Sunday till further notice.
