HB 972 Protest March and “Die-in”

Thomas Vinson, a member of the Charlotte local organizing committee for Black Lives Matter, protests along with 30 others in front of the Administration building. Many of the protesters made the drive up from the Charlotte area to deliver the petition opposing HB 972 to Gov. Pat McCrory.

More than 30 protesters from the Southeast Asian Coalition, Black Lives Matter and other organizations gathered Friday, July 8 outside of the Executive Mansion to march and deliver a petition demanding the veto of HB 972. Upon reaching Gov. Pat McCrory’s office in the Administration building, the protesters staged a “die-in” where they laid on the ground to remember those killed in police shootings.
