Keeping up with the NC State football team will now be easier than ever, as coverage of the Wolfpack’s upcoming campaign will be aired all across the state throughout the 2014 season.
“The Dave Doeren Show” will air on Sunday at 11:35 p.m. weekly on WRAL-TV in the Triangle Area and on WILM in Wilmington beginning on Aug. 31. The broadcast will feature host Tony Haynes and Pack Head Coach Dave Doeren as the two break down the previous day’s game and discuss the game plan that went into the contests. Repeats of “The Dave Doeren Show” can be seen the following Monday at 6 p.m. and Tuesday at 11 p.m. on Fox Sports South and MASN, respectively.
A second show, “Wolfpack Football Look Back,” will air exclusively on Time Warner Cable Channel 323 in the Triangle Area, Wilson, Goldsboro and Henderson. The show includes every play from the latest Wolfpack game shortened into an hour-long broadcast and features the play-by-play commentating of Gary Hahn. The program will premiere on Sept. 3 and will continue every Thursday at 9 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. and Saturday at 6 p.m.
The biggest feature of the NC State football coverage will be over the radio airways. During the 2014 season, 23 different radio stations will broadcast every Wolfpack football game starting two hours prior to kickoff. The coverage will reach 52 different cities, spanning from Asheville to the Outer Banks.
For the Wolfpack faithful scattered across the state of North Carolina, the wide coverage provided by the various stations will give ample opportunities to keep up with the team. Clayton Kramer, a sophomore in statistics, said the extensive range of broadcasts will help him keep up with the Wolfpack squad, even in his home town.
“The wide range of coverages is definitely something I’m excited about,” Kramer said. “I’m always interested to see what goes through the minds of the people behind my school’s football team.”
With the four out-of-state games on the Pack’s schedule this season, finding ways to watch the action will be crucial for State fans. Of the three Wolfpack football games with set kickoff times during the 2014 season, all three will air either on television or over an online stream.
Charlie Brooks, a senior in civil engineering, said that he was excited to keep up with the Pack, even when he couldn’t be there personally.
“It’s important to me because sometimes I can’t get to the home games or even the away games, I’m always desperately searching for them on the TV and before I could never seem to find it,” Brooks said.
For the Aug. 30 contest against Georgia Southern, coverage can be found on the ACC Network. On Sept. 6, the Pack’s showdown with Old Dominion will air on ESPN3, and the matchup with South Florida will be shown on CBSSN one week after that.
