No injuries were reported after a moving car was struck by gunfire on Trailwood Drive near Centennial Campus this morning.
According to ABC11, the Raleigh Police Department said it received a call at approximately 8:53 a.m. from a man who reported he was shot at from the driver’s side of his car as he drove on Trailwood.

“NC State Police is actively working with RPD to gather additional information, such as the suspect and suspect’s vehicle description, and are still searching the area,” Barker wrote.
This shooting is the seventh incident in a string of vehicles being shot on or near Interstate 40 since Monday, in which no injuries have been reported. Trailwood Drive is located off of I-40. There has been no confirmation that these incidents are related.
NC State students were issued a WolfAlert in the morning regarding the incident. There is not an active shooter on campus according to RPD, nor has this been the designation at any point of the day.
Trailwood Drive has since been cleared and is now open.
