NC State Athletics Director Boo Corrigan announced NC State women’s soccer coach Tim Santoro will not be returning as head coach of the Wolfpack in a press release Friday morning.

Santoro was hired in November of 2012 and accumulated an overall record of 90-108–33 with a 28-69-16 record in the ACC. The team struggled in Santoro’s first three seasons as head coach of NC State, recording double digit losses in all three years.

However, Santoro led the Wolfpack to four straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including three Sweet Sixteens between 2016 and 2019.

In 2017, he led NC State to 15 wins — the most in a season since 1995. After making the NCAA Tournament in 2022, the Wolfpack had two of its worst seasons under Santoro in 2023 and 2024. Over the last two years, NC State went 7-19-10 with three conference wins and no NCAA Tournament appearances.

Santoro will leave NC State with the second most wins and NCAA Tournament appearances behind Larry Gross. A national search for Santoro’s replacement will begin immediately.
