Emilia Rivadeneira, Culture Editor: If you want to study with a view, the Skyline Terrace at Hunt Library is the best spot. Might be too cold to study there right now, however, the tables on the same floor will do for now.
Elizabeth Dull, Culture Editor: The Harry Potter-esque room in D.H. Hill Jr. Library. When it’s cold outside and I’m on the brink of a mental breakdown, I must romanticize finals season.
Carter McDermott, Assistant Layout Designer: Cup A Joe. All of my Technician paychecks have been funneled into supporting their baked goods.
Ben McNeely, Editorial Advisor: I second Carter. Cup A Joe is my grumpy old man place.
Ally Tennant, Assistant News Editor: Instead of the library, why not go sit in the freezing cold outside at the Court of North Carolina? Nothing like frostbite and failure!
Erin Ferrare, Assistant Sports Editor: The picnic tables outside of the Atrium have good ambiance. Nothing says ‘work hard’ like seeing all the construction my tuition is paying for that I won’t get to experience.
Noah Teague, Assistant Sports Editor: Nothing says ‘study vibes’ like Bojangles on Western Boulevard. Don’t just learn the material; enjoy it with some fine dining.
Elliot Johnson, Assistant Copy Desk Chief: In the hallway outside the Delta Testing Center in Cox Hall.
Rachelle Hernandez, Copy Desk Chief: As a creature of habit, the ninth floor of D.H. Hill Jr. and nothing else, but if I want to spice it up, the Learning Commons for the computers.
Ethan Rimolt, Photo Editor: Your room.
Justin Welch, Opinion Editor: Seventh floor, D.H. Hill Jr. Library, right off the main elevator, desk by the window overlooking the Brickyard. You will not be able to study here during finals, but maybe at some odd hour over winter break, it will be open. That’s how pristine a spot it is.
Skye Crawford, Assistant Opinion Editor: Your apartment or dorm. Leave the library and lounges open for me.
Katherine Wan, Assistant Video Editor: I’m gatekeeping the best place to study for finals. It’s the best place because no one knows about it.
Amelia Russell, Assistant News Editor: Hunt Library, so I can pretend I’m a woman in STEM.
Koen Rodabaugh, Focused Editor: Under The Tree™ at Park Shops. Just like the leaves fell off that tree all at once, so too will my grades after finals week.
Kate Denning, News Editor: In the pods on the 6th floor of D.H. Hill Jr. Library. No one can see you crying.
Ellie Bruno, Design Editor: Since most of my finals are design projects, I just hole myself up in Brooks Hall until it’s too dark to walk outside alone — then do it anyway.
Isaac Hernández, Video Editor: Well, it used to be Poe Hall. Now I just like to do homework on the Wolfline. Yes, the Wolfline. Any bus, non-stop. “This bus is no longer in service”? No problem. I’ll just get on another bus to “who-knows-where?” until I finish studying. (I actually like to study on the ground floor of D.H. Hill Jr. Library so everybody can see me; come find me).
