NC State Athletics battled hard this week with the volleyball, baseball and cross country teams putting on the most noteworthy performances. While some teams were able to get in the win column, some Pack teams struggled to perform.
Women’s soccer ties with Miami
NC State women’s soccer recorded its sixth draw of the season in a game against the Miami Hurricanes that ended in a score of 0-0. The Pack limited Miami to just five shots over the course of the match while notching 11 of its own. Junior goalkeeper Olivia Pratapas kept the Canes off the board with two saves, and she was matched by Miami’s goalkeeper.

Men’s soccer suffers two losses
NC State men’s soccer extended its losing streak to four with losses to American University and No. 15 Duke. The Pack put up a good fight in both games but ultimately fell 2-1 in both matches.
The Wolfpack’s two goals this week came courtesy of junior midfielder Will Buete against the Blue Devils and graduate defender Kendall Edwards against the Eagles. Notably, freshman goalkeeper Samuel Terranova got his first career start against Duke and, despite the loss, tallied an impressive eight saves.

Football falls to then-No. 17 Blue Devils
Despite the recent change at quarterback, NC State football has continued to struggle offensively, falling 24-3 in Durham on Saturday, Oct. 14. The Wolfpack took an early 3-0 lead after capitalizing on a Duke turnover, but it was held scoreless for the remainder of the game. By the end of the first half, sophomore quarterback MJ Morris had thrown for a measly 39 yards on 5-12 completions and the red-and-white had racked up nine penalties.
The second half was no better — NC State set the tone early, turning the ball over and allowing an 83-yard touchdown run less than halfway through the third quarter.
