The NC State women’s cross country team was the highlight of Red and White Week, winning its eighth-straight ACC Championship title. NC State Football was back in action for the week while both soccer teams played their final regular season matches.
Cross country wins eighth-straight ACC Championship
The women’s cross country team continued its dominance within the ACC, earning its eighth consecutive ACC title. The Pack’s women ran an average 6K race time of 19:54.20 and were the only team to have an average time under 20 minutes. Seniors Katelyn Tuohy and Kelsey Chmiel placed first and third respectively, marking Tuohy’s second individual title at this event. The Wolfpack women are looking forward to the national championship for a third straight title in that competition.
The men’s team took eighth place in the 8K race. NC State posted an average race time of 24:10.54, coming in just behind Duke.

Football shows out against Clemson after bye week
Freshman wide receiver Kevin Concepcion led the Wolfpack to a 24-17 win at home against Clemson on NC State’s homecoming celebration. Concepcion led the team with 134 yards of offense and two touchdowns. Clemson attempted a comeback in the fourth quarter, but as the NC State defense tightened up, the Tigers fell short. This win marked head coach Dave Doeren’s 100th career win as a coach and put the Wolfpack at 2-2 in ACC play.

Men’s soccer finishes regular season with draw against Clemson
The NC State men’s soccer team finished its regular season with a 1-1 draw, breaking its six-game losing streak against No. 10 Clemson. The Pack’s defense held up against the Tigers’ relentless offense throughout the first half. Freshman midfielder Hakim Karamoko put NC State on the board after 80 minutes of play, almost leading to an upset against one of the top-scoring teams in the nation. However, Clemson tied the match off of a corner kick just minutes later.

Women’s soccer falls to No. 1 Florida State
The women’s team wrapped up its season against the No. 1 Florida State in Tallahassee, Florida, losing 5-0. Junior goalkeeper Olivia Pratapas put up six saves and held off Florida State for most of the first half. Once the Noles came back from halftime, though, they were ready to go. An offensive push by the Seminoles that the Pack wasn’t ready for left NC State in the dust with a disappointing end to its season.

Volleyball falls to Duke, rebounds against UNC-Chapel Hill
NC State volleyball had an exciting rivalry weekend, taking on its largest in-state rivals back-to-back matches on the road. NC State took Duke to five sets, going back and forth until finally taking the fifth set. Junior opposite hitter Amanda Rice showed out and recorded a career-high 27 kills in Durham. Rice, along with sophomore outside hitter Ava Brizard, helped the team take two sets from the Blue Devils but ultimately, the Pack fell 3-2.
Brizard and Rice both recorded over 15 kills against the Tar Heels in the four-set match. The Wolfpack didn’t play around against UNC-Chapel Hill, putting up 21 block assists and 54 digs as a squad. The Heels took the third set, but with a red-hotNC State team on a mission, their victory was short-lived. The Pack ultimately took the match 3-1.
