1. Louisville (18-6, 8-1 ACC)
The Cardinals have only one conference loss and have won six straight. Senior infielder Sutton Whiting is hitting .413 on the year, third in the ACC. The Cardinals have a road game in Bloomington against No. 19 Indiana before a home series against No. 28 Georgia Tech this weekend.
2. Miami (18-7, 6-3 ACC)
Junior slugger David Thompson crushed four home runs. Thompson leads the nation in RBI with 39 and ranks second in the ACC in home runs with eight. The Hurricanes took two of three from Wake Forest after sweeping NC State last week.
3. Florida State (19-6, 7-2 ACC)
The Seminoles have sweeps over Boston College, UNC-Wilmington and Oakland on their resume and took two out of three from No. 9 Virginia over the weekend, including a 13-1 drubbing on Sunday.
4.North Carolina (14-9, 5-4 ACC)
The Tar Heels took a series on the road against Georgia Tech last weekend. The Tar Heels have a solid stable of starters that can trot out and win on any given night. UNC-Chapel Hill faces Appalachian State and Miami.
5. Georgia Tech (16-7, 5-4 ACC)
The Yellow Jackets lost the series to North Carolina this weekend and have overwhelmed overall in ACC play this year. The Yellow Jackets welcome Auburn before heading to ACC-newcomer Louisville this weekend.
6. Virginia (14-7 ACC, 3-6 ACC)
The Cavaliers have lost two straight and six of their last eight while slid down the National rankings. The Cavaliers have dates with Georgetown, Liberty and Notre Dame this week.
7. Duke (18-6, 4-5 ACC)
Although not a program that is synonymous with baseball success, the Blue Devils have fielded a very good squad for the 2015 season. The team is headlined by pitcher Michael Matuella, who is 1-0 with a 0.44 ERA in five starts. Duke will play Boston College in Newark, Delaware because Boston is still under 15 feet of snow (not entirely accurate).
8. Clemson (11-11, 4-5 ACC)
The Tigers are .500 on the year, getting their first series win over the weekend since sweeping Maine in mid-February. The Tigers face Western Carolina and Wake Forest in the coming week.
9. Notre Dame (15-7, 3-6 ACC)
With 96-mph flamethrower Pat Connaughton dropping threes in the NCAA Tournament instead of striking batters out the diamond, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are limping along with a 3-6 ACC record. They were swept by Louisville over the weekend. No rest for the weary as Virginia comes to town next weekend.
10. Wake Forest (15-10, 4-5 ACC)
Wake Forest is tied for fifth in the nation in batting average, hitting at a .315 clip. The Demon Deacons dropped two games against Miami this past weekend and will travel to UNC-Charlotte and Clemson this upcoming week.
11. Virginia Tech (12-12, 5-4 ACC)
The Hokies won in dramatic fashion by beating Clemson 4-3 in 12 innings on Sunday. They still lost the series though, and have ugly losses to Mercer, Campbell, Rider and Toledo.
12. NC State (12-9, 3-5 ACC)
The Wolfpack is 8-1 at home… but just 2-6 on the road. The young Wolfpack took two of three from Clemson earlier in the season but was swept on the road in Miami and have also dropped games to UNC-Greensboro and Boston College away from Raleigh.
13. Pittsburgh (10-12, 4-5 ACC)
All of Pittsburgh’s starters have ERAs under 3.00, yet Pitt is still under .500 for the season. Losses to VCU, Wofford and Penn State probably don’t help that record.
14. Boston College (6-13, 1-7 ACC)
The Eagles have a very good excuse for why they are terrible at baseball: It’s just too darn cold for baseball. The Eagles have only one ACC win this season (over NC State, of course).
