After qualifying for the NCAA Championship for the second year in a row, the NC State women’s golf team battled to finish 22nd in the nation.
The tournament began May 22, but no member of the Wolfpack completed more than 15 holes in the first day due to inclement weather.
After the first day of action, NC State found itself tied for 10th, with 11 other teams still having yet to complete the first round.
Junior Rachael Taylor led the Pack with a score of +1 through 11 holes, tied for 13th among individuals. She ended the first round with a team-high score of 77.
The Wolfpack saw a sharp drop-off from the first day of action, ending the day ranked 23rd, just one shot ahead of 24th-place UC-Berkley.
