After opening the season with a loss, one may have wondered exactly what was in store for the softball season. The team hit a hot-streak, winning a few games in a row, but the Wolfpack would return to a losing streak. The opening few games for State would be just a small taste of what was to come for the Pack. The season had both its ups and downs, all coming in either winning or losing sprees. Win a few, lose a few; that would be the story for the softball team.
With three games left to play in the season against ACC opponent Virginia, the Wolfpack stands at an overall 22-28, going 4-13 in the ACC. The Pack stands in the No.7 spot in the conference ahead of only the Boston College Eagles by two conference wins. With only five seniors leaving the team, a very young State team looks to have many underclassmen step up to the plate and take the roles of the seniors.
