The football team has released its pre-spring-practice depth chart, and Harrison Beck is listed as the starter at quarterback. Daniel Evans, the starter at the end of the 2007 season, will sit out spring drills because of a shoulder injury, according to a release from the team. Justin Burke and Russell Wilson are listed second and third quarterbacks on the depth chart, respectively.
Beck started four games in 2007, while Evans started the other eight.Jamelle Eugene is listed ahead of Andre Brown at running back, while Toney Baker is listed as out of spring drills with a knee injury. Eugene took over the starting role after Baker and Brown suffered season-ending injuries in 2007. He scored the winning touchdown against North Carolina on Nov. 10.
The team begins spring practice today at 3:30 p.m. The annual spring football game at the conclusion of spring workouts will be on April 19.
