The Union Activities Board is sponsoring the third annual All-Knight Bash Thursday, which is taking a new theme this year and expecting a bigger crowd, according to UAB president Megan Tierney.
The bash will be from 8 p.m. to midnight Thursday in the Talley Student Center.
“We have costume parties going on as well as medieval jousts,” she said.
The “K” was added to “night” in its title this year because of a medieval, renaissance theme, Tierney, a senior in business administration, said.
This is the first year that the event will be held on a Thursday, so that it will not compete with the Homecoming Parade and Pack Howl pep rally Friday night, according to Tierney.
“It is included as part of the Homecoming Week,” she said.
In the past the event has drawn 2,000 people, and Tierney said while UAB expects about the same amount, it hopes more people will come than ever.
She described the event as “basically just fun, food and free stuff.”
Other Homecoming events for Thursday include the daily Wear Red, Get Fed in the Brickyard, in which students can get free food and points for their organizations in the Spirit Competition by wearing red.
