Atrium Improvements
Construction throughout the summer has improved the look of the outdoor dining area at the Atrium and made it a much more accessible and desirable place for students to congregate.
According to University Dining Business Officer Randy Lait, the goal of both Dining and Facilities was to make the Atrium look more modern.
While seating capacity outside the Atrium will remain about the same, the look and feel of the area will see marked improvement according to Lait.
Although the project is not yet completed, Lait said the Atrium will be functional for the first day of school and finished by the end of the first full week of school.
The most noticeable improvements to the outside dining area will be:
-All new outdoor furniture, including an outdoor bar setting which will allow students to stand and eat while looking out at the Brickyard.
-New bike racks near the entrance to the Atrium.
-New vending machines outside. According to Lait, this will likely include four drink machines and two snack machines.
-Newly planted trees and planters to complement new landscaping.
-An overall updated look designed to much more accessible and modern.

Dining Changes
Students will notice price increases across campus for many normal goods including soft drinks and snacks in vending machines and C-Stores and food at Dining Halls, Talley Student Center and the Atrium.
According to Lait, the increases in prices has a lot to do with the increased cost for many goods and the cost of transporting goods.
The increase in gas prices has caused a trickle-down effect in the cost of many food goods that Lait said students will see at many different areas on campus.
“We did go up on prices to walk-in to the dining halls,” Lait said. “At the retail units, we have seen a lot prices go up. Hopefully as fuel prices continue to drop our prices might go down as well.”
Where price increases will be noticed:
-Dining Hall walk-in prices
-Vending machines
-Talley Student Center
-Atrium
Wolfline changes
Wolfline has made several small changes to routes and times for fall and has also added a completely new route, according to Transportation information and communication specialist Christine Klein.
According to Klein, several routes will have longer turn around times and other routes have changed some stops in hopes of servicing more areas.
The main change, however, will be the addition of an entirely new route, Route 2 North Campus Reverse Shuttle.
Klein said the new route — made possible by an increase in student fees — will go west on Hillsborough Street and south on Dan Allen Drive.
“We’ve had requests for this for years and we are finally in a position to do it,” Klein said. “It was figuring out a way for a bus to be able to navigate the route.”
-New route will service three stops on Hillsborough Street. Stops will be at Logan Court, Horne Street and Gardner Street.
-Engineering Route 3 increased from every 12 minutes to every 15 minutes.
-Varsity slightly re-routed to better serve Greek Village.
-Route 6 Carter-Finley increased from every 10 minutes to every 15 minutes.
-Route 9 Greek Village increased from every 9 minutes to every 12 minutes.
