The softball team swept two games from in-state rival East Carolina on Wednesday night in Greenville, winning the first game 2-0 and the second 1-0.
Abbie Sims, a junior in business management, earned the first win with seven scoreless innings to up her record to 14-5 for the season.
Sophomore shortstop Shanna Smith, a sport management major, was 2-for-4 with a run scored in the opening-game victory.
Junior pitcher Shaina Ervin, a parks, recreation and tourism management major, recorded the win in the second game of the doubleheader for N.C. State.
Smith scored the team’s only run in the second game.
The Wolfpack are now 27-10 for the season and are on a nine-game winning streak while the Pirates dropped to 19-13.
State now has a 4-0 record in games against East Carolina.
