The editorial printed in the March 14 issue (“Where’s our money?”) was based on incorrect facts, therefore its premise was not factual. The editorial board used the incorrect numbers from the front-page story to come to a decision on the topic of alumni donations. The article incorrectly reported the numbers of alumni giving dropped from 36,587 in 2004 to 30,345 in 2005. The latter number is actually 38,345. In reality, the number of alumni giving money to the University increased last year, while the actual monetary amount donated decreased.
