N.C. State got off to a winning start at this week’s ACC Championships in College Park, Md.
After finishing third in the regular season, the Wolfpack are currently third in the championships behind a victory in the 200-yard medley relay.
The group of senior Kevin Velleca, senior Dan Velez, junior Steve Cowling and senior Cullen Jones set both ACC and meet records in the event with a time of 1:26.88, and the group also provisionally qualified for NCAAs with the time.
It was the second straight season State won the event at ACCs.
Virginia, which has won the last seven ACC Championships, leads with 70 points after two events.
Florida State is in second with 66 points, and the Pack have 62 points.
Clemson, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Duke and Boston College round out the field at ACCs.
Competition continues at 10 a.m. today with preliminaries. Finals will start at 7 p.m.
