Awesome service, excellent food and the cozy, dimly lit romantic setting — just some of the reasons The Melting Pot is a perfect spot for a Valentine’s Day to remember. Although the restaurant is costly, it’s well worth the money for a big night with that special somebody. The restaurant itself is set up for quiet conversations and eye gazing over candlelight. Small booths provide the privacy and setting essential to a special occasion like Valentine’s Day.
The Melting Pot offers a pre-set Valentine’s Day menu, a perfect dinner including salads, cheese fondue, entree, dessert and a Melting Pot gift bag that includes champagne, champagne flutes, a rose and a balloon. If champagne doesn’t tickle your fancy, you could always opt for one of The Melting Pot’s fabulous frozen drinks, a tasty alternative that can be served virgin for those who do not drink alcohol.
The meals start with a salad; the house dressing — tangy honey mustard — is recommended. It’s best to stay away from the mushroom salad, unless you are a mushroom fanatic, because it is made up of mostly raw mushrooms and little else.
Next is the cheese fondue, which is cooked in a beer base with garlic. The cheddar cheese is by far the best option, leaving you wanting more, even though the other options are also enjoyable. The fondue includes different breads, vegetables and apples to dip into the cheese, which is being cooked in a pot right there on your table.
After you are done with the cheese portion of the meal, the entree is served. The entree is made up of lobster, tuna, filet mignon, teriyaki sirloin, chicken or black tiger shrimp. Each person cooks his or her own food by sticking the meat on the fondue stick and into the boiling broth that is spiced to your liking.
Now for all you going with the Bill Murray Lost in Translation mentality that there is nothing worse than cooking your own food, but cooking your food at the table is half the fun of The Melting Pot experience. You can even dip the food together and make it more romantic — and she says you two never do anything together.
Be warned, this restaurant is not for those who are limited on time or money, it can take up to three hours to eat here and cost up to $140. It is perfect for those who just want to sit back, relax and enjoy a meal with someone close to them. It also provides plenty of talk time to catch up with one another.
Last, but surely not least, is the dessert. The dessert, which could be considered the sole reason to come to this restaurant, includes fruit and cakes to dip into a mixture of chocolates. The desserts can be white chocolate, dark chocolate, milk chocolate or a mixture.
The Melting Pot offers great food, privacy and for those forgetful lovers, some goodies for both you and your significant other.
