Do you hate children?
Sick children?
We didn’t think so, and that’s EXACTLY why you should find a way to get involved with this weekend’s Dance Marathon, besides the fact that you can shake your moneymaker for someone other than yourself for once.
Listen, you are probably going to dance this weekend anyway, whether it is in your car, at a club or naked in your dorm room when you think your roommate is out and then they come home and you are oh-so-embarrassed.
So basically, just avoid an awkward situation with your roommate seeing you in all your glory moving around the room to C + C Music Factory, and come to Dance Marathon.
What’s that? Dancing isn’t your thing? Well that’s cool; you can still help. Dance Marathon welcomes moralers to come in and keep the dancers going — they are going to be on their feet for 24 hours — and they need all the help they can get.
Can’t make it this weekend? Grandma’s coming to town? Star Wars Convention? It’s still cool, you can sponsor a dancer and make a pledge that will go to help the Children’s Hospital of North Carolina.
Don’t make Dance Marathon send the kids to your house to look sad in order to get the money. You probably couldn’t handle that. Puppy dog eyes are an evil mistress!
In all seriousness, those involved with Dance Marathon should be commended for their philanthropy by some form of media that reaches everyone on campus. Oh, wait — that’s us.
Good job Dance Marathon! You rock!
Over the past three years, Dance Marathon has raised over $30,000 for The Children’s Hospital, which sees more than 32,000 kids pass through its doors every year, looking for treatment for some horrible afflictions.
The Children’s Hospital is doing its part by helping these kids the best it can, and it is up to every member of our campus and state community to help them help every child who needs care.
It is not too late to register for Dance Marathon or get donations in. The Dance Marathon begins at seven tomorrow night and will go to seven Saturday night.
So put on your dancing shoes, whatever those are, and get to Carmichael Gymnasium tomorrow night to show your support for a noble cause that has real results.
