Technician: Why do you think that you deserve to be Leader of the Pack?
Carruth: I’ve really tried to dedicate myself to this University through my involvement with leadership and service. I’ve made my scholarship the utmost of importance and value in all that I do, and I try to display that. I’ve tried to be an example to all those that I come into contact with, by displaying integrity and character.
Technician: Do you have any funny or interesting stories you want to share about your experiences at NCSU?
Carruth: I’ve had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Oxford and in Florence, Italy, which were two really amazing experiences for me and have helped develop me as a person.
Technician: Do you have any achievements or activities that you would like to talk about?
Carruth: I am the president of the Pre-Health Club. The club encompasses all pre-health professions, and has about 400 active members. I am a chancellor’s aide, which is a program that selects students to be representatives of the University and the chancellor at special events and athletic games. I am also a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Sigma Tau Sigma Textile Honor Society. I am also a North Carolina Textile Foundation Merit Scholar.
