Women’s SoccerMassey awarded at sports banquet
Every year at the N.C. State All-Sports Banquet, a female athlete who best demonstrates outstanding academic and athletic achievement, provides community service and a true spirit of teamwork receives the Kay Yow Award, in honor of the longtime women’s basketball coach.
This year the award went to former women’s soccer player Michelle Massey.
During her tenure for the Wolfpack, Massey was named team captain and won the team MVP award four times. She was also selected to the 2006 NSCAA/Adidas Scholar All-South Region team and the All-Academic ACC team.

Men’s TennisTeam gets Tennessee transfer
Tennessee men’s tennis player Derek Stephens has decided to transfer to N.C. State after the completion of this academic semester. He will enroll at State for the fall semester as a junior.
Stephens, a North Carolina native, was the team MVP for the Volunteers in his freshman season. This spring, he is 8-5 in singles matches and 3-2 in doubles competition.

Women’s Track & FieldFormer Pack runner places high in Boston Marathon
Kristin Price, a former All-American cross-country and track star at N.C. State, recently competed in the 2007 Boston Marathon and took 10th place in the women’s division. She finished the 26-mile event in 2:38.57 and was the third among all American participants.
While running for the Wolfpack, Price earned eight All-American selections in track and won the 2002 Outdoor National Championship in the 10,000 meters. On the cross-country side, she was a two-time All-American.
