A collision near the corner of Western Boulevard and Varsity Drive last night sent one driver to the hospital, according to the Raleigh Police Department.
Officer F.M. Patercity said a vehicle driving east on Western Boulevard toward Dan Allen Drive collided with a vehicle turning left onto Varsity Drive around 6:30 p.m.
Patercity said the driver traveling east on Western, whose name he declined to release, was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but was conscious and speaking as he received medical attention.
Raleigh Police said they were unable to release the police report or name of the driver after hours late last night.
The other driver involved, industrial engineering senior Chris Johnson, said he was turning left onto Varsity Drive when he collided with the other driver. He said he did not know who had the right-of-way at the time of the collision.
He did not receive medical assistance at the scene and did not return follow-up phone calls made late last night.
