Swaptree.com is serving up a new way to trade in that newly finished season of The Office for the next one — and the only cost is the stamp.
The Web site features four steps toward trading your own used items, such as DVD sets, movies, books, video games and CDs, for something new — or, at least, new to you.
– Step One: List, by the Universal Product Code or the International Standard Book Number, the items you want to trade.
– Step Two: Sit back. Swaptree’s algorithms find and list thousands of items that are available to swap for your item.
– Step Three: Browse and choose the item you’d like to trade for yours.
– Step Four: Print postage from your browser and send your item — you’ll receive the other item in about 10 to 14 days.
And when the transaction is complete, the users involved are given a rating, which will help other users decide whether a certain trader is reliable.
However, the site does recognize there will be instances in which a user will not send the traded item. In these cases, Swaptree employees contact the user in question and find out what went wrong. But the site does not say it will refund or compensate anyone for an item that was sent out without a trade.
