What Happened?
The volleyball team lost two more home games last weekend against Miami and Florida State, which are 11th and sixth in the conference, respectively, dropping N.C. State’s conference record to 0-11.
The Wolfpack won the first game against Miami on Friday before losing three straight en route to losing the match. State came back to play the Seminoles Saturday night, but were swept 3-0.
Despite the team’s losses, freshman libero Lindsay Benac said in a practice early last week the team is trying to improve on a number of things.
“We’re definitely trying to improve on our mental toughness as a team,” Benac said. “We’re working on the right things in practice. We need to work on bringing that into the game.”
Who’s Hot?
Coach Charita Stubbs said she felt sophomore outside hitter Keri DeMar has improved her game a lot.
“It hasn’t really shown up in the stats category but she’s decreased the number of errors she’s had,” Stubbs said. “She understands the game more, definitely.”
Who’s Not?
Unfortunately for the Pack, the team has still not won an ACC match all year. The team also has not won a match since the North Carolina Central Tournament held back in August. The team still has 11 ACC matches left before the end of the season.
What’s Next?
State will be on the road in its next three matches, which are all rematches from games played earlier this season at Reynolds Coliseum. The Pack will travel to Atlanta, on Friday to take on Georgia Tech, and then head to Clemson on Saturday. The team will then take on rival North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Oct. 30.
