Anna Pattonjunior, psychology and Spanish
Technician: How do you feel about winning, what was your initial reaction?
Patton: First I cried, then I was really excited. More than anything, it was really humbling to see all those people in the audience and share that experience with them.
Technician: Is there anything to which you attribute your success?
Patton: One difference came with school and class work, since the GPA counted for 20 percent of the final decision. All the finalists were equally likely to win. We all had the same service and leadership credentials, and it was probably just that same percent that pushed me ahead.
Technician: What do you feel are your new responsibilities as Leader of the Pack?
Patton: It holds me to a higher standard in service and leadership initiatives. The title has less to do with the title and more to do with keeping in mind who you are meant to serve.

Nick Schultzjunior, civil engineering
Technician: How do you feel about winning? What was your initial reaction?
Schultz: When I was on the field, my initial feelings were kind of surreal. It really didn’t hit me until I heard the people cheering and my parents calling to me.
Technician: Is there anything to which you attribute your success?
Schultz: All the candidates were deserving of the scholarship. The support of my friends and family really carried me through. I had a really good group of people that stuck with me all along the way.
Technician: What do you feel are your new responsibilities as Leader of the Pack?
Schultz: I plan to continue to focus on the areas I am passionate in — service and leadership. I have to be true to myself as a leader and a servant and be aware of my position as a role model for the school and the community.
