What happened?
Volleyball is now 3-8 overall and 0-1 in conference play after losing to North Carolina on Friday night. The match marked the first ACC contest of the season, played before a crowd of just fewer than 2,000 people in Reynolds Coliseum. Freshman libero Lindsay Benac said the crowd kept the energy of the team up.
“I wanted to win that because I want them back next week,” Benac said.
Who’s Hot?
Stubbs singled out Keri DeMar on Friday night after the outside hitter came away with nine kills and a team-high 39 attack attempts. Stubbs said the sophomore executed what she practiced in preparation for the match.
“This week in practice, we practiced techniques, and we got things done that we haven’t in the past, so I think it’s coming together,” DeMar said. “We just fell a little bit short today so I think we’ll be ready for them next time.”
What’s Next?
The Wolfpack will face Clemson on Friday and Georgia Tech on Sunday at home in Reynolds Coliseum. Stubbs said the team is working on being consistent.
Freshman outside hitter Megan Rehmer said Tuesday is the first day back to practice for the team after taking the weekend off.
“Our practices are getting tougher and more individualized,” Rehmer said. “We are cracking down on what we need to work on individually. This is a rebuilding year, getting everyone used to everyone else, and a new style of volleyball.”
