The ides characteristically correspond to the middle of the month when the moon is full. Every month has an ides, which usually holds no significance or public acknowledgment.
But the March 15 is a date reeking of superstition, as it proved particularly unfavorable for Julius Caesar, a dictator of the Roman Republic. William Shakespeare immortalized the dark day in 44 B.C. with his play “Julius Caesar.” After ignoring the warnings of a soothsayer, a person who predicts future events, who said, “Beware the Ides of March,” a group of conspirators stabbed Caesar 23 times in the back.

Preparation:
- Chop the romaine leaves.
