As the NFL season heads down the stretch, let’s see how each NC State football alumni performed in week ten.
Russell Wilson, Quarterback, Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks improved to 6-3 with a 22-16 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night. Wilson completed 22 of 32 passes for 238 yards and two touchdowns. Wilson also ran five times for 19 yards. Both touchdown passes were to tight end Jimmy Graham and the second was the game-winner, which came early in the fourth quarter.
Philip Rivers, Quarterback, Los Angeles Chargers
Rivers has shown no signs of slowing down in his 14th season, despite the Chargers’ 3-6 record. They fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars in overtime by a score of 20-17. Rivers completed 21 of 37 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns. He threw both touchdown passes to running back Austin Ekeler, the first of which was 28 yards and the second was 22 yards. Rivers did throw an interception in overtime which led to the game-winning field goal for the Jaguars.
Jacoby Brissett, Quarterback, Indianapolis Colts
Brissett played well in the Colts last-second, 20-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He threw for 222 yards and two long touchdown passes. He got the Colts off to a fast start with a 60-yard touchdown to receiver Donte Moncrief on the first play of the second quarter. Brissett extended the lead to two touchdowns with a 61-yard touchdown pass to receiver Chester Rogers, but unfortunately, the Colts were unable to hold onto the lead. Brissett also ran four times for seven yards in the loss.
Stephen Hauschka, Kicker, Buffalo Bills
The Bills got blasted 47-10 by the New Orleans Saints. Hauschka did make his lone field goal attempt, of 37 yards. He also made an extra point.
Josh Jones, Safety, Green Bay Packers
Jones made four tackles in the Packers’ 23-16 win over the Chicago Bears. He now has 40 tackles on the season.
Dontae Johnson, Cornerback, San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers picked up their first win of the season, and Johnson chipped in five tackles. He now has 48 so far this year.
