As the NFL season rolls on, former NC State football players continue to impact NFL teams, including three starting quarterbacks. With Philip Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers on a bye week, here is a look at how the Pack pros performed in week nine:
Jacoby Brissett, Quarterback, Indianapolis Colts
Brissett turned in arguably his best performance of the season, tallying 308 yards passing going 20 for 30 on passing attempts, along with two touchdowns and zero turnovers. He logged a stellar quarterback rating of 122.6, his highest of the season.
Brissett’s performance led the Colts to a 20-14 victory over the Houston Texans, who looked like a different team after losing their star quarterback and Clemson alumnus, Deshaun Watson. The Colts’ win improved their record to 3-6.
Russell Wilson, Quarterback, Seattle Seahawks
Wilson and the Seahawks fell to 5-3 after a 17-14 defeat to Washington. Wilson had 297 yards passing, two touchdowns and two interceptions. After going up 14-10 on a Wilson 30-yard bomb to Doug Baldwin with only a minute and a half left in the game, the Seahawks gave up the go-ahead touchdown to Washington just 30 seconds later. The game ended with a 50-yard passing attempt by Wilson that was batted down with no time left.
Stephen Hauschka, Kicker, Buffalo Bills
The Bills place kicker had a slow week nine, completing only three extra points with no field goal opportunities. The Bills fell to the New York Jets, 21-34, and their record dropped to 5-3.
Juston Burris, Cornerback, New York Jets
The second-year cornerback for the Jets had a solid week nine, recording three tackles and his first forced fumble of the season. Burris and the rest of the Jets defense led their team to the win over the Bills, which improved their record to 4-5.
Dontae Johnson, Cornerback, San Francisco 49ers
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound 49ers cornerback recorded four tackles and one tackle for loss as his team fell to the Arizona Cardinals, 20-10. The 49ers are still fighting for their first win, as they fell to 0-9 on the season.
