Abdul-Malik Abu, a junior forward, came to play for the Pack in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on March 7. Abu contributed 14 points for the Pack, but it was defeated, 75-61.
NC State men’s basketball senior forward Abdul-Malik Abu has suffered an MCL sprain and is out indefinitely, according to NC State Athletics.
The team broke the news on Wednesday, but included that Abu would not require surgery on the injured knee.
Abu averaged 11.8 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per game last year with the Pack, and is slated to finish his collegiate career at NC State.
The men’s basketball season begins Nov. 3 in an exhibition matchup against Mars Hill in PNC Arena.
