The enrollment period for the 2018 spring and summer semesters is now open to students. Enrollment access for students began on Wednesday and will continue until mid-November.
The enrollment date designated to each student through MyPack Portal indicates the day and time that a student is able to enroll for classes. Students can check MyPack to confirm their enrollment date and time and check for any holds they might have on their accounts that would prevent them from enrolling in classes on their assigned date.
Holds can include fees that have not been paid and advising appointments prior to enrollment. Students with past due debts need to be cleared by the University Cashier’s Office before they can begin enrollment.
MyPack Portal was redesigned at the beginning of October, but Pack Planner and the Enrollment Wizard are still located under the Planning and Enrollment tile that appears on the student homepage. Student enrollment dates are located on the tile as well. Holds that students might have are also located on the student homepage to the left of Planning and Enrollment.
Enrollment dates are assigned by the number of hours a student has passed. Enrollment began for graduate and veterinary medicine students on Oct. 18. Fourth-years, or students with 92-121 credit hours or more, begin registration Oct. 23-25. Third-years (60-91 credit hours) begin registration Oct. 26-30 and second-years (30-59 credit hours) begin Nov. 1-2. First-years (0-29 credit hours) begin Nov. 6-8.
Late registration for students will begin on Nov. 14 for the 2018 spring semester. Late registration dates for Summer Sessions I and II have not been decided. Students who are enrolling for the first time for the spring term on or after Nov. 14 will be charged a non-refundable $100 late enrollment fee.
Students can access the online course catalog on the student self services website that lists every course available at NC State. Students can search for courses by subject or keyword to find the course description, credit hours, semesters offered and possible restrictions. The undergraduate catalog is published once each year and any changes made will not be reflected in the current academic year issue.
Tuition is due for students on Dec. 5 if they have enrolled before this date.
