It is still early in the NFL season as the teams finished up week two, but it’s time to take a look at how the returning and rookie NC State football alums are doing around the league. On Sunday, NC State became the second school in NFL history to have four starting pro quarterbacks on the same day.
Philip Rivers, Quarterback, Los Angeles Chargers
Rivers and the Chargers took on Jay Cutler and the Dolphins for week two. Despite Rivers’ 31 of 39 pass attempts, 331 yards and one touchdown, the Chargers fell 19-17 and to 0-2 overall.
Russell Wilson, Quarterback, Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks win over the 49ers included Wilson’s one touchdown pass. Wilson had a 59-percent pass completion in the 12-9 win.
Mike Glennon, Quarterback, Chicago Bears
Mike Glennon played his former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday and fell 29-7. The Bears’ only scoring opportunity came from Glennon’s touchdown pass. Glennon also threw for 301 yards and was 31 of 45 on pass attempts, with two interceptions as well.
Jacoby Brissett, Quarterback, Indianapolis Colts
After leaving New England, Brissett got the nod for the Colts’ matchup against the Cardinals. Brissett had a rough game as he had both a fumble and an interception. Brissett completed 20 passes out of 37 attempts for 216 yards in the Colts’ 16-13 overtime loss.
Josh Jones, Safety, Green Bay Packers
After an injury to the Packers’ starting safety, rookie Josh Jones entered the game and tallied four tackles to finish out the game. The Packers ended up falling to the Falcons 34-23.
Willie Young, Linebacker, Chicago Bears
Willie Young had a sack against the Buccaneers in a 29-7 loss. Young also tallied two combined tackles in the loss.
