Brownies from the box are quick and decadent. However, the homemade version is just as easy and triumphs in taste. The brownies are fudgy and dense, featuring rich, melted chocolates in every bite.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter
- 9 ounces chopped bittersweet chocolate
- 1¼ cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup and light brown sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ cup white chocolate chips
- ¼ cup milk chocolate chips
- ¼ cup dark chocolate chips
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease an 8” square baking pan.
- Add the butter and chopped chocolate to a microwave-safe bowl and microwave until melted.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour and baking soda.
- Combine the sugars, eggs and vanilla until there are no lumps of sugar.
- Add the butter and chocolate mixture.
- Fold in the white, dark and milk chocolate chips into the mixture.
- Smooth the batter into the baking pan and bake for 45 minutes. A few additional minutes may be necessary.
- Tip: Test the brownies by sticking a toothpick in the center. If sticky crumbs adhere to the toothpick, the brownies are ready.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely prior to serving. One can store brownies at room temperature for up to four days.
