Raleigh Police are searching for former Wolfpack basketball player Gavin Grant in relation to a September home invasion robbery, according to an RPD press release.
In the press release, Jim Sughrue, spokesman for Raleigh police, said the invasion occurred September 24 at 1723 Crossroads Arbor Way. Grant, 25, is being charged with first-degree burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, attempted robbery with a deadly weapon, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Grant had not been located by police, as of the Nov. 5 report.
Two male suspects forced their way into the apartment, according to Sughrue, and assaulted two victims who were inside the residence before attempted the armed robbery. The victims fought off the suspects, who fled before completing the robbery. Police say an investigation is ongoing to identify the second suspect.
Grant was a forward for the Wolfpack for four years, playing from 2004 to 2008. Sughrue described Grant as weighing 220 pounds, 6 foot 8 inches tall.
