The NC State gymnastics team competed in the EAGL Conference Championship Saturday, finishing in third place behind the New Hampshire Wildcats in first and the George Washington Colonials in second.
The Pack finished with a team score of 195.275, collecting four podium finishes. Senior Alexa Phillips tied for first place on the floor with a score of 9.900, being crowned as the EAGL floor champion.
Junior Drew Grantham led the Wolfpack on vault and finished second in the all-around for the entire meet. Grantham has led the Pack all year long in these events and has continued that in recent meets.
On bars, sophomore Lauren Kent had the top score for the Pack today with a 9.875. Kent finished second in this event for the meet as a whole.
Sophomore Nicole Webb finished tied for second in the meet for the Pack with her performance garnering a score of 9.875. Webb also posted a 9.825 score on floor.
The 2019 EAGL Awards were announced at the meet, with Caitlyn Fillard earning the Senior of the Year award. Head coach Kim Landrus was named Co-Head Coach of the Year and both of her assistant coaches, Phil Olgetree and Bob Starkell, earned Assistant Coaches of the Year honors.
The Pack will now wait until Monday to find out its postseason fate. The selection show will begin at 5 p.m. and will be streamed live on NCAA.com.
