NC State gymnastics finished in second place with a score of 195.850 at its quad-meet against New Hampshire, Rutgers and Brown.
The No. 25 Wolfpack (12-4, 5-1 EAGL) faced its first EAGL loss of the season against New Hampshire (15-2, 4-1 EAGL) 196.000-195.850. The Pack defeated Rutgers (195.850-194.625) and Brown (195.850-192.125). The team had a strong performance overall with five podium finishes. The team had notably strong scores on the bars and floor, finishing 49.100 and 49.050, respectively. The Pack scored 48.900 on the vault and 48.800 on the beam.
All-around senior Caitlyn Fillard placed first with a cumulative score of 39.050. Junior Drew Grantham placed fifth, 38.625.
On the vault, Grantham placed first for the Pack along with Rutgers senior Jenna Rizkalla, 9.900 to tie her career-high score. Fillard finished fourth with a score of 9.825, a new season high.
Sophomore Lauren Kent also had a new career high on the vault, 9.650.
Kent continued to have a good night on the bars when she tied for first place alongside New Hampshire’s senior Danielle Mulligan. Kent scored a 9.900, tying her career high. Senior Maggie Tamburro placed third, 9.875. Fillard was in a three-way tie for fifth, 9.800.
Being beat out by Mulligan on the beam, 9.900, sophomore Nicole Webb placed second, 9.850. Junior Alexis Beucler placed fourth with a score of 9.825.
Tonight was Beucler’s debut of the season, participating on the beam and floor. Beucler scored an impressive 9.800 on the floor.
On the floor, senior Paris Phillips led the Pack with a 9.875 to finish in fourth place and to tie her season high.
Overall, the Wolfpack had a great night and scored its third-highest score of the season.
The Wolfpack will return to Reynolds Coliseum to host its own quad-meet against Arizona, Texas Woman’s and EAGL challenge George Washington this Saturday at 4 p.m.
