The Tar Heels’ Brian Cernoch cruised in the first set, but senior Igor Saveljic battled back in the second set, taking it to a tiebreaker before losing 6-0, 7-6 (4).
The final singles match that finished was a top-30 matchup between No. 29 William Blumberg and 22nd-ranked Junior Alexis Galarneau. Blumberg defeated Galarneau 6-3, 7-5.
The Wolfpack will be back in action this weekend on the road, taking on Georgia Tech Friday and Clemson Sunday.
